Global Church Leadership Team meeting in Maui, Hawaii. A Must Read!

Dear Visionary Leader:

We were honored to join with Leaders from all over the world at the GlobalChurch Leadership Team meeting in Maui, Hawaii.  Even though there is still much work to be done, we sense
a greater momentum throughout the Body of Christ for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We call it FINISH 2030. As we approach the 2000th Birthday of the Church, we will hear more and more about completing the Great Commission. Dr. Timothy Hill, Church of God Overseer stated, “A
Global Church focused on the Great Commission.”

During our time together, we honored Rev. Peter Mortlock, Founding Pastor of City Impact Church, Auckland, New Zealand, and Dr. Sam Clements, General Overseer of the Church of God of Prophecy as the recipients of the Synergize 2019 Leadership Award. Each year, the GlobalChurch Network recognizes two distingished leaders who epitomizes what it means to provide synergize leadership across different streams of Christianity for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The late Dr. Bill Bright said, “It is not about ego and logo but about fulfilling the Great Commission.” It is in this spirit that we honor Pastor Mortlock and Dr. Clements!

We were fortunate to receive outstanding teachings from key leaders, who sought to add compounding value to the entire Global Church. We came to listen, learn and lead together. Our keynote speakers included:
  • Eddy Leo, Founding Pastor Abba Ministries, Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Leonard Sweet, Founder, Spirit-Wind Ministries
  • Kenneth Ulmer, Lead Pastor, Faithful Central Bible Church
  • James O. Davis, Founder/President, Global Church Network
  • Glenn Burris, President, Foursquare Church
  • Tommy Barnett, Founder, The Dream Centers
  • Elmer Towns, CoFounder, Liberty University
  • Doug Beacham, Presiding Bishop, International Pentecostal Holiness Church
  • David Sobrepena, Founder, Word of Hope, Manila, Philippines
  • Suliasi Kurulo, Founder, World Harvest Center, Suva, Fiji
  • Alex Mitala, Founder, New Birth Fellowship, Kampala, Uganda
  • Alex Abraham, Founder, Operation Agape, New Delhi, India
  • Ejaz Nabie, Lead Pastor, Faith Assembly, Queens New York
  • Doug Small, Founder, Project Pray
  • David Mohan, Founder, New Life Assembly, Chennai, India
  • Danie Daves, Founder, Food Revolution, Panama City, Panama
Additionally to the phenomenal teachings, we established pivotal targets for the future. A vision becomes a goal when we set a date to it. We set the following goals to be fulfilled by December 31, 2030:
  • 10 million prayer partners worldwide praying for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
  • A minimum of 1,000 Bibles to translated into new languages
  • For the 3,000 of the hardest unreached people groups to have Bibles, Believers and local Bodies of Christ. The FINISH2030 website was launched at the GlobalChurch Leadership Team meeting (www.FINISH2030.com). Be sure to check it out!
  • 200 Global Hubs of Christianity to be established by 2022 and 500 Hubs by 2030. The Global Hubs of Christianity are strategic locations for Bible Translation, Leadership Development and the soliciting of new prayers partners.
  • The Global Church Learning Center (www.GCLC.tv) will continue to serve as a major thrust for the training of pastors and church planters throughout the Body of Christ.
We are familiar with the words, “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2).
We these famous verses in mind, please note “us” and “we” is used six times. The thrust is running together, not running alone. As we move forward there are seven “Running To Win” leadership lessons. First, there is The Contest Before Us. This is not a jog or a sprint but a marathon. We will have to pace ourselves in the years to come.
Second, there are The Crowds Around Us. The Hebrew writer stated, “great cloud of witnesses surrounding us.” These witnesses are highlighted in Hebrews 11. These awesome men and women have gone ahead of us to take rightful place in the grandstand of glory. They now cheer us on in our race. All of us will need inspiration to finish!

Third, we will need The Conditioning Within Us. We must lay aside “every encumbrance and the sin which easily entangles us.” The extra weight slows us down. In this case, if it slows us down in the race, we must cast it aside. Also, we must get rid of any sin that trips us in the race. In order for us to win, weill have to have internal and external conditioning.

Next, there is The Course Before Us. When the runners compete in their races, they do not get to pick the track or the path that they will run on. The tracked is designed and marked out by someone else. Our Lord has “marked out the path” for us.  We are NOT competing against our fellow-servants. We are running together, though from different tribes of Christianity, toward the finish line.
As fellow-leaders, we need to remember The Completion Ahead Of Us. Dr. James Merritt, Founder of CrossPoint Church in Atlanta, Georgia and President Emeritus of the Southern Baptist Convention says, “It would be tragic for our life to come to a close and our race not be finished.” With each passing day, the Global Church is getting closer and closer reaching the remaining unreached people groups with the Gospel of Christ!
Sixth, we have The Coach To Us.  Every world class winner has a coach to equip him or her for victory. In this life, we are grateful to have an “us” in each day, but we also have Christ as our “Head Coach.” Christ has already run His race and knows the path for us to take to be victorious in our mission in the days to come.

Last, there is The Crown Before Us. The awards and accolades of this life will all fade away, but the crown that Christ has for us, we will last throughout eternity. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus!  When we are tired of running, we need to refresh our minds that Christ is standing at the FINISH LINE to welcome us to our eternal reward.
We are running this race together. We are most grateful to Dr. James Marocco, Founding Pastor of Kings Cathedral & Chapels in Kahului, Maui, and his entire team for hosting the Global Church Leadership Team Meeting at his church. Please know our prayers are with you!
Until The Last Person Has Heard,
